Itera achieves five international ISO certifications
Oslo, [8 June 2026] – Itera today announced that the company has achieved certification to five internationally recognised ISO standards: ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 27001 (Information Security) and ISO 42001 (AI Management and Governance).
Itera is among a very limited number of companies in Europe holding all five of these certifications
The certifications mark a strategic milestone following several years of systematic work to strengthen Itera’s governance, risk management and operational excellence. Together, the standards reinforce Itera’s position as a trusted, low‑risk partner for customers operating in highly regulated and competitive markets, including the public sector, energy, finance and defence.
Strengthened market access and tender competitiveness
Certified suppliers are increasingly favoured – and in many cases required – in public and private procurement processes. In particular, ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 are frequently prerequisites for participation in tenders and RFPs.
The certifications are expected to:
- Increase Itera’s eligibility and scoring in public tenders, where documented compliance, information security and sustainability are weighted heavily.
- Support customer compliance with key regulations, including GDPR, NIS, the EU AI Act, CSRD and new Norwegian public procurement rules, where environmental criteria must account for at least 30 per cent of the evaluation.
- Reduce bid complexity and cost, as the internationally recognised standards serve as verified proof of compliance, lowering documentation requirements per tender.
This strengthens Itera’s value proposition to customers while supporting more efficient sales and delivery processes.
Practical impact of the certifications
- ISO 9001 – Quality management
More predictable deliveries, fewer defects and a structured approach to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. - ISO 14001 – Environmental management
Systematic reduction of environmental impact and a stronger position in sustainability‑weighted tenders. - ISO 45001 – Occupational health and safety
Lower operational risk and more stable project execution, supported by a safe and healthy working environment. Itera is recognised as a people‑first company. - ISO 27001 – Information security
Robust controls for confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, supporting GDPR and NIS compliance. - ISO 42001 – AI management and governance
Responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence, with clear governance and readiness for the EU AI Act.
A foundation for long‑term value creation
The certifications are based on the Itera Framework, which has been audited and certified across the organisation. The framework standardises how Itera sells, delivers and operates, enabling consistent quality across geographies and disciplines.
The certificates have a three‑year lifecycle, with follow‑up audits in 2027 and 2028, ensuring continuous improvement and ongoing compliance.
– We are open to new ideas and listen to people with something to say. It is the nature of our company to constantly pursue development and growth, for Itera and our customers.
