Itera named B2B Energy Innovator of the Year at CHARGE Europe 2026

International recognition highlights Itera's growing impact in the energy sector and its commitment to helping energy companies navigate a rapidly changing landscape.

Itera has been awarded B2B Energy Innovator of the Year at the CHARGE Europe 2026 Awards, an international recognition celebrating innovation and excellence across the energy industry.

The award was presented in Florence, Italy, where energy leaders from 22 countries gathered to discuss the future of the sector.

The recognition comes at a time when energy companies are balancing increasing demands for sustainability, resilience, affordability and operational efficiency. Across Europe, digital technologies, data and AI are becoming critical tools for navigating this transformation.

For Itera, the award reflects several years of focused investment in helping energy companies solve complex challenges through technology and innovation.

Competing among Europe's leading energy players

The CHARGE Europe 2026 conference brought together energy professionals, utilities, infrastructure companies and technology providers from across Europe. Participants included organisations such as Equinor, Statkraft, Vattenfall, DNV, Ørsted and Aker Solutions, among many others.
The award process involved both a competitive nomination stage and evaluation by an independent jury, making the recognition particularly meaningful.

According to the conference organisers, the CHARGE Awards celebrate outstanding achievements and innovation within the energy sector.

A team achievement

While the award carries an individual category name, Vilnes emphasizes that it is the result of a collective effort across the company.

"This award belongs to the many talented people who have helped build Itera's energy business. It reflects years of collaboration between consultants, developers, designers, data specialists, strategists and industry experts across our organisation. Most importantly, it reflects the trust our customers place in us. Their ambition and willingness to innovate are what make achievements like this possible", says Vilnes.

Supporting the energy transition through technology

Energy systems are becoming increasingly interconnected, data-driven and customer-centric. From modern digital platforms and data foundations to AI-driven decision support and process optimisation, technology is playing a vital role in shaping the industry's future.

Itera works with energy and industrial companies across the Nordics and Europe to develop digital services, strengthen operational efficiency and create new opportunities through technology.

The CHARGE award serves as recognition of that journey and as motivation to continue helping clients navigate one of the most significant transformations facing society today.
