Innovative pension and insurance solution
Storebrand has developed a groundbreaking online service — the Business Guide — that simplifies and streamlines the purchase of pensions and insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises. Itera assisted with expertise in business development, UX, and development.
Award-winning solution
In September 2023, the solution won the award for 'Best Digital Service' at the UX Nordic Awards. The jury emphasized the innovative approach to automation and extensive use of customer feedback.
Itera has provided individual resources in business development, UX design, and development. This was part of a larger cross-functional and autonomous team driven by Storebrand itself and its employees, with assistance from consultants from other companies.
From weeks to minutes
Before Business Guide was launched, it could take weeks to complete the purchase of pension and insurance products, and the project was considered very ambitious from the start.
Selling occupational pensions and workers' compensation insurance is complex, with many interdisciplinary subprocesses and regulatory considerations involved. The technical integrations with all the systems involved also had to be properly in place. Despite this, Storebrand saw significant benefits for both their customers and employees in completing the project.
After being launched by Storebrand, the Business Guide fully automated previous manual processes and made it possible to complete similar processes in 10 minutes.
The solution guides the user through a few simple steps: By providing information about employees and answering a few short questions, a price for the desired products is generated. From there, the user can create a shopping cart and sign with BankID. Once the customer completes the purchase, they are enrolled as customers with Storebrand.
Success through technology and customer insight
Itera has collaborated with our clients for many years to create tomorrow's technological solutions. By combining modern design principles such as user-centered design and technology, one can more effectively ensure that the right solutions are created, used, and generate value.
– Very fun! When we started three years ago, not everyone believed it was possible to create simple and user-friendly solutions for purchasing pensions. We have gradually managed to refute that through interdisciplinary collaboration and with Itera as an important partner.

The Business Guide from Storebrand is a good example of how to create value by combining technology and customer insight.
The solution's most significant success criterion has been using various tools to incorporate user feedback throughout the development process while also understanding the business side of the solution. This was also the reason Storebrand won 'Best Digital Service' at the UX Awards—congratulations!
