Landsbankinn has developed, designed and implemented a UI-Kit, a cutting-edge component library that powers all Web and Mobile Apps within their banking products. Itera had the chance to be part of the project as a digital realisation partner.

Cost reduction, rapid deployment and standardization

The project's primary objectives are multifaceted. First and foremost, the aim is to reduce development costs by leveraging shared resources, which minimizes expenses associated with app development.

Additionally, the project strives to accelerate the time it takes to bring new features to market, as rapid deployment is essential in today’s competitive landscape. Standardizing development practices is another key objective; establishing uniformity in design and functionality across applications enhances user familiarity and satisfaction.

To address these challenges effectively, we implemented common UI patterns through a robust component library. This strategic approach provides developers with diverse pre-built UI components that save significant time and effort. As a result, UI/UX designers and developers no longer need to design and develop these components from scratch.
